FROM ALYPIUS TO HERONINUS

Original text: PFlor 137*
Date: A.D. 264.

From Alypius. You were ordered once before to report the quantities of corn stored up and dispatched, but you neglected the order, having perhaps a bad conscience. Do it this time, however, lest you be compelled to do it in the presence of a soldier. I pray for your health, most honourable Sir. To Heroninus, steward of Thraso. Year 12, Thoth 26.
