This inscription was found near the western gate of Aosta (Augusta Praetoria Salassorum), which was established as a Roman colony in 25 B.C.



Dedicated to Imperator Caesar Augustus, son of a god, consul for the eleventh time, imperator eight times, with tribunician power, by the Salassi, residents who at the outset settled themselves in the colony, to their patron.
