DEDICATION OF A TEMPLE TO MASSINISSA

Original text:   KAI 101
Provenance:     Thugga
Language:   Punic / Numidian
Date:   139/8 B.C.

This bilingual dedication to Massinissa son of Gaia was placed on a temple in Dougga. It is dated to the tenth year of the reign of Micipsa.

Another bilingual inscription (KAI 100) has been found in Dougga, on a large Mausoleum of the 3rd or 2nd century B.C.   These two inscriptions are an important resource for the study of the local Lybico-Berber script.
