SECOND LETTER OF ATTALOS TO ATTIS

Original text:   Pessinous_4   ( OGIS_315 )
Date:     163-160 B.C.
Format:   see key to translations

Attalos to priest Attis, greetings. If you were well, it would be well; I also was in good health. Menodoros, whom you sent to me, gave me your letter, assiduous and friendly as it was, and spoke himself at considerable on the matters concerning which he said he had instructions. I have, accordingly, approved your policy because I have seen you on every occasion enthusiastic in our interest, and having communicated to him what I thought you ought to know, I have told him to report it to you. Farewell.
