The accounts of the building work carried out at Epidauros in the fourth century B.C. provide valuable information about how ancient Greek cities managed new building projects. The standard account in English is by A. Burford, "The Greek Temple Builders at Epidauros" (Liverpool, 1969). This additional inscription, which had been broken into three parts, was published in 2016 by Ch. Kritzas & S. Prignitz, "A Building Inscription from Epidauros. IG IV² 1, 114, SEG XLI 298, IG IV² 1, 110" ( academia.edu ).

The work described in the inscription was  probably related to a large building at Epidauros, which was previously identified by archaeologists as a gymnasium, but is now thought to have been a banqueting hall.
