Sylloge Inscriptionum Graecarum: 316

BEGINNING OF AN ATHENIAN DECREE

Greek text:   IG_2².389
Date:     293/2 B.C.
Format:   see key to translations

The translation follows the amended Greek text proposed in SEG_21.354 - see also IG_2³.1.858.   Previous editors, including Dittenberger, had assigned the inscription to the year in which Apollodoros was archon (319/8 B.C.).

[When Olymp]iodoros was archon for the second [year], with Epikouros of [Rhamnous], son of Paches, acting as registrar; in the [eleventh] prytany of the Pandionis tribe, [on the last day] of Mounichion, which was the [first day] of the prytany; [in full assembly at the] theatre; [Nikoboulos] of Phrearrhioi, the son of Nikias, [and the other presidents put it to the vote] on behalf of the presidents . . .
