This inscription was found on a statue base at Olympia; Mummius had embellished the temple there, after defeating the Achaeans ( Polyb_39.6 ).



The city of Elis honours Lucius Mummius, son of Lucius, the general and consul of the Romans, on account of his virtue and the kindness that he continues to show towards Elis and the other Greeks.
