DIONYSIAC ARTISTS AT ATHENS HONOUR ARIARATHES V AND NYSA

Greek text:   IG_2².1330
Date:   146-130 B.C.
Format:   see key to translations

Although there is no specific reference to it, it seems likely that Ariarathes spent some of his youth in Athens, and that led to his interest in theatrical performances there.   This inscription has not yet been translated into English; but there is a German translation by H. Kotsidu, "ΤΙΜΗ ΚΑΙ ΔΟΞΑ", no. 45 ( Google Books ).
