Copy. Dioscorus son of Zenodorus, Persians of the Epigone, to Tryphon son of Dionysius greeting. I acknowledge that I have received from you at the Serapeum by Oxyrhynchus through the bank of Archibius son of Archibius the sum of 52 silver drachmae of the Imperial coinage, to which no addition at all has been made, and I will repay you on the 20th of the month Caesareus of the current 3rd year of Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus Imperator without any delay. If I fail to repay you as stated, I will forfeit to you the aforesaid capital increased by one half, with proper interest for the overtime, you having the right of execution upon me and upon all my property as if by legal decision. This note of hand is valid wheresoever and by whomsoever presented. The 3rd year of Nero Claudius Caesar Augustus Germanicus Imperator, the 18th of the month Germaniceus, dies augustus. Copy of signature. I, Dioscorus son of Zenodorus, have received the sum of 52 silver drachmae and will repay it as aforesaid. I, Zoilus son of Horus, have written for him, as he is illiterate. If you can, please importune Dioscorus and exact from him the fulfilment of his bond. If he pays you the money, give him a receipt; and if you find a safe person, give him the money to bring to me.
