Sylloge Inscriptionum Graecarum: 632

A STATUE OF KING PROUSIAS, DEDICATED BY THE AETOLIANS AT DELPHI

Greek text:   FD_3.4.76
Date:     c. 182 B.C.
Format:   see key to translations

At the time of this inscription, Prousias II had only just become king of Bithynia, but the Aetolians were clearly keen to establish good relations with him. The "pillar of Prusias" remains a prominent monument at Delphi and is the subject of an unusually detailed wikipedia article (with picture available in wikimedia).

The league of Aetolians honours king Prousias son of king Prousias on account of his virtue and his benefactions towards them.
