Apollonius son of Hephaestion son of Ammonius, of the Sosicosmian tribe and the Althaean deme, to Apollonius son of Apollonius son of Sarapion, of the Euthenodian tribe and the Althaean deme, greeting. I acknowledge that I have sold to you a female ass, which has shed its first teeth, mouse-coloured, unbranded, at the price agreed upon between us of six hundred drachmas of Imperial silver coin, total dr. 600, which the acknowledging party Apollonius has received on the spot from Apollonius, and he will guarantee it with every guarantee against the proceedings of any person, just as it is, not repudiable. If anyone lays claim to it, Apollonius will repel him at his own expense. This deed of sale is valid. The 13th year of the Emperors and Caesars Lucius Septimius Severus Pius Pertinax Arabicus Adiabenicus Parthicus Maximus and Marcus Aurelius Antoninus Pius, Augusti, and Publius Septimius Geta Caesar Augustus, Phaophi 5.
