DELPHI HONOURS ABAIOKRITOS OF THEBES

Abaiokritos was killed in the battle of Chaironeia in 445 B.C., while holding the office of boeotarch ( Plut:Arat_16'1 ).


The Delphians have granted to Abaiokritos of Thebes, the son of Abaiodoros, both to himself and to his descendants, proxeny, priority in access to the oracle, privileged seating at games, priority in receiving justice, inviolability, freedom from all taxes, and all the other rights which are awarded to the other proxenoi. When the archon was Ameinias and the members of the council were Timokrates, Athambos and Kallikles.
