Panas was the father of Ptolemaios, who set up a trilingual inscription in Dendera in 12 B.C. ( see AET_8.14.B ). Both of them held the position of strategos of the Tentyrite nome; they were in charge of the nome's finances, and organised construction work in Dendera. For a summary of their careers see C. Fischer-Bovet, "Army and Society in Ptolemaic Egypt", p.345 ( Google Books ).

The translation is adapted from G. Daressy, "Statues de basse époque du musée de Gizèh", no. 8 (Recueil 15, 1893).
